Time: 10:57 am

Today everyone woke up very late around 08:50 am when the milkman came for bill settlement. The maid had come in the morning and left as usual - Papa had let her in at 7 am. Avani was being a little restless - hungry most likely. Then Avani fed with Mumma while Papa went to the washroom. Avani was fed and sleepy when Papa was back. Mumma went for a bath and Papa tried to help Avani sleep by singing a song to her. Quite sleepy, she gave in to slumber’s persuasion at 10:05 am. After breakfast, Mumma left after giving many flying kisses to baby Avani sleeping peacefully on the floor bed.

Papa thought Mumma had forgotten her medicine hence ran after her as her phone was unreachable (Airtel doesn’t work). Mumma had already taken her medicine with her in another blister pack. Papa waved Mumma goodbye at the building’s gate and clicked this pic near the car parking.

Avani had woken up (at 10:50) when Papa got back. She was roaming around in Lakshmi’s lap. Then Papa played with Avani a little near the balcony door. He then put the movie Socha Na Tha on Chromecast and everyone watched the last 15 mins of it. Avani stares at the TV intently - maybe the moving pictures attract her. Then Avani had her milk at around 11:30 am - 60 ml and played with her toys near the balcony door. In between she had put some vegetables rind in her mouth which Papa extricated from her and asked Lakshmi to clean the floor. Avani pottied while playing and was cleaned up around 11:55. Since this was the oil massage was to follow, she loafed around without a diaper.

During the oil massage, Avani went “glee glee” a lot on the cardboard piece she has been playing with for the last few days. Papa gave her the bear to play with instead as she twisted and turned through the massage. Once done, she took a bath - both shampoo and soap today.

Avani didn’t want to sit in the bathtub at all. She kept standing up and Lakshmi bathed her like that.

Once dried, Papa took Avani to feed from her bottle. It seemed she was hungry but needed to be coaxed to drink her milk. The rocket’s proximity or its mock engine sound didn’t help much. The next bottle was also readied but Avani didn’t want to drink milk. So Papa took Avani to the bedroom to sleep where she revolted. Hence Papa carried her around the room and she was happy listening to Papa singing Aaj jaane ki zidd na karo. Papa guessed that Avani was slightly hungry and sat her down to feed but she turned down every effort to that end. Finally Papa kept standing and held her in his arms and Avani drank the milk (~30 ml). Once fed, it was surely time for Avani to sleep. But she didn’t want to lie horizontal in Papa’s lap while he was sitting on the bed or the floor. She wanted to be carried around. So that’s what happened for the little princess. She roamed around in Papa’s arms in the cool, dark room and listened to whatever he sung. Very soon she was rubbing her eyes and yawning. Papa saw that it was working. The little baby was now ready to sleep. Finally at 1 pm, Avani was able to lie horizontal in Papa’s arms while he walked around. She was nestled in the cool confines of the floor bed under the blanket with her name on it.

Avani slept for 2.25 hrs! Finally waking up at 1515, she looked fresh. She was straight taken to her booster chair where she seemed fresh and relaxed.

Today’s lunch was Ragi chilla with beans, carrots and tomatoes. She played and ate her food, first taking bigger bites and then smaller ones. She has developed the pincer grip and now only wants to pick up small bits off her plate using her index finger and thumb. Sometimes she just uses her her index finger to stick the food on her finger and then put it in her mouth. Midway she decided that she needed milk and had her milk while in the booster chair.

Later Avani played with her trains which Papa was making into a tower with the Android on top. Avani became Godzilla and destroyed the tower each time. She seemed to enjoy herself.
