Yesterday evening Avani met Dr. Srinivas Kishore a second time for her ear treatment. She was a very good girl and patiently played and observed her surroundings during the long wait of 50 mins. Doc put an endoscope into her ear while Mumma and nurse held Avani’s head strongly. The camera on on the endoscope’s head magnified the little baby’s ear on a big screen. Doc gave the small family the good news that most of Avani’s earwax had dissolved with Soliwax and there’d be no need to clean her ears manually. This brought immense relief to Mumma-Papa and they thanked the doctor. Doctor prescribed 5 more days of Soliwax drops for Avani.

Avani woke up at 8 am. She woke up Papa up with a smile and played around on the bed. Fed with Mumma and slept again for a short while from 9:15 - 9:45 am.

She had a weird combination of Poha and curd along with Mumma-Papa as breakfast. Mumma left at 10:25. Avani saw her off at the staircase in Papa’s arms. Avani returns smiles very well. So when Mumma and Papa smile delightfully when Mumma is leaving, the innocent, little Avani also brightens up thinking it’s protocol to smile back. Once she realizes Mumma has left and can’t see her anymore, she looks all around her searching for Mumma. However, she snaps out of it soon.

Avani returned to her breakfast but only had one small bite of Poha. Papa’s efforts didn’t pay off.

Then she played around and had her first 50 ml milk at 11:30. Papa had called Dada and he carried around Avani in his arms in the dark bedroom while they continued their long conversation. Avani grew bored and her boredom gave way to slumber. She slept off in a talkative Papa’s arms. In between the call, Papa lay Avani on the floor-bed in the study and covered her with her blanket. Avani rustled a little in her sleep but contentedly slept nestled in the cool confines of the soft bed. Papa put Soliwax drops at 1222. Avani moved slightly with every drop that went into her ears but Papa patted her back to sleep.

Avani woke up at 1306 visibly happy. Lakshmi picked her up and brought her to Papa who was seated on the couch. Papa beckoned to Avani but she wanted to stay in Lakshmi’s arms. With the monsoons in the full swing, lots of mosquitoes have found their into the house. Papa ran after a rather fat bloodsucker but couldn’t get it.

Avani had her 2nd bottle of 50 ml milk at 1320 and continued playing around with her trains and hit-me toy. Avani attacked her hit-me toy who knew not how to defend herself.

She had a massage at 1345 followed by bath with soap and was ready for lunch at 1420.

Lunch today was Ragi dosa with onion and tomato and curd. Avani had her lunch till 1450.

After lunch, she continued to play around with Papa between the dining table and couch.

She had her third 50 ml of milk at 1530. She didn’t seem sleepy even though it was 2.5 hrs since she had woken up. She finally slept off at 1547 after Papa made a lot of effort by singing to her while walking around in the bedroom. He felt pangs of hunger and was faced difficulty while singing to her. He powered through since Avani was responding to letting her neck a little loose and resting on Papa’s shoulder. Papa wondered how the football team would have survived in the dank cave for so many days without food!

Avani slept in her floor-bed. Papa had lunch quickly as soon as she had settled into her sleep. He forgot to put Soliwax this time. Avani finally woke up at 1700 and found Papa sitting beside her studying ML on Coursera.

Mumma video called in and Avani was happy to see her. Lakshmi readied Avani’s last bottle for the day and left. Mumma reached at 1718. Avani was in the corridor at the top of the stairwell to welcome her. She leaned out of Papa’s arms and became horizontal facing forward trying to get to Mumma who was still only halfway up. After this, she had her 4th 50 ml milk with Mumma at 1723.
