Today is Avani’s 8 month birthday. It’s been 8 months since Papa had driven Mumma to the hospital when she was in labour. It has been 8 months since this little darling first held her Papa’s finger just like this.

Avani didn’t have the best beginning to the day. She went thud on the headboard which woke Papa up at 8 am. She cried out loud and was consoled by Papa and Mumma. Avani has been rubbing her ears for 1-2 months now. It also seemed that she was experiencing difficulty falling asleep due to some ear infection or wax in her ears.

Papa found a Pediatric ENT Specialist who’d be available in Star Hospitals, Banjara Hills in the afternoon. Mumma cancelled her plans to go to office. It was decided that Lakshmi would get a half day off today and the party would leave to see the doctor at 12:30 pm.

Avani went back to sleep at 09:30 after drinking about 30 ml of milk. She woke up at around 11 am. She was fed and massaged and bathed - all ready by noon.

The small family reached Star Hospitals finally at 13:50. Avani didn’t sleep on the way. The doctor wasn’t available due to a personal exigency. Hence Avani was to meet Dr. Srinivas Kishore. She met him at 14:30 finally. Avani charmed Dr. Srinivas with her presence. :) She sat on Papa’s lap for her examination. Then Mumma took over. Doctor peeked into the baby’s little ears and said that she had a lot of earwax which needed to be cleaned. He said her nose was clean after checking her cute little nose too. This was done while Avani sat on the Doctor’s desk. He prescribed her 2 drops of Soliwax in each ear twice a day for seven days. Papa-Mumma bought the medicine from the pharmacy and it started to rain heavily as soon as they reached the car to drive back.

The weather cleared up in no time - typical monsoons. Since it was Avani’s 8 months celebration, Papa-Mumma took her to Conçu where she wanted to play with everything on the table.
